Weaver is outstanding as a mother who becomes a gay rights activist in the name of her son she lost to intolerance. R min Drama. A young African-American man grapples with his identity and sexuality while experiencing the everyday struggles of childhood, adolescence, and burgeoning adulthood. PG min Drama, Romance. An introvert freshman is taken under the wings of two seniors who welcome him to the real world. Obviously it is more than that, the film in its entirety is sensational.

Definitely some sad parts but not nearly as heavy as others. Lucas Hedges and Nicole Kidman are perfect, per usual. R min Biography, Drama, Musical. Ennis and Jack are two shepherds who develop a sexual and emotional relationship. Their relationship becomes complicated when both of them get married to their respective girlfriends. Believe it or not, this film is not universally loved among the LGBT community.
I know a lot of people who would pick "Shelter" or "Latter Days" above this any day. I, however, loved this film. Tragic and beautiful story of forbidden love. Your heart aches for these two cowboys who if they were born in a different time and place, they could have ended up happily together. Ang Lee serves up masterful direction as always, while Gustavo Santaolalla composes a haunting and beautiful score that complements the beautiful southern backdrops.
Heath Ledger in particular and Jake Gyllenhaal deliver excellent, heartbreaking performances. The arrival of a new student in school changes Leonardo's life. This 15 year-old blind teenager has to deal with the jealousy of his friend Giovana while figuring out the new feelings he's having towards his new friend, Gabriel.

Hillary Swank is as phenomenal as she is heartbreaking as Brandon Teena in this tragic film. Unrated 97 min Comedy, Drama. A struggling comedy writer, fresh off a breakup and in the midst of the worst year of his life, returns to Sacramento to care for his dying mother. R 86 min Drama. Votes: 54, Unlike "Milk" and "The Normal Heart," Pride is much more upbeat whilst tackling the very serious issue of homophobia. I dare you not to have a huge smile on your face at the end of this one. Makes you want to get up and cheer.
