You will learn many scenarios of writing calculations in Power BI. Through many examples, you will learn all about the modeling in Power BI, which is relationships, hierarchies, date dimension, DAX functions and expressions, etc. If you want to learn more about other parts of Power BI not just Modeling, your answer is within books 1 to 5. Then I got a proposal from Apress to write a book on Power BI architecture, which has always been on my to-do list.
This is not a book for beginning Power BI, nor is it for data analysts or developers. It is a book for someone who wants to design the strategy and architecture of Power BI so it can be used in an organization or as a solution.
This is a book that talks about components and their collaboration with each other. This is a book that gives you blueprints of different architectures and the pros and cons of each. If you are a developer or an analyst, you still will benefit from this book, but you will notice that this book does not explain how to create reports with Power BI. Looking forward to reading you. Thank you so much Reza in advance for doing this!
It is making a whole lot of difference to many of our lives. Keep it up…. Hi Reza, Thanks for sharing nice books and kudos to your work. Reza, I thoroughly appreciate your Power BI online book and have combed over RLS to get it tried, tested and implemented on a small scale, but cannot for the life of me get it to work as programmed for.
I will continue testing until I find the right solution. Thanks Calvin for your very nice feedback. Thanks Brenda for your feedback.
Our website is under heavy demand for download now, and you might see an error page after clicking on download link, please try again after few minutes if that happens. Sorry for inconvenience. Cheers Reza. Thanks for the good work and sharing your knowledge.
I feel grateful for your effort. Great stuff Reza! I am going through your book now page by page as my position was eliminated at my previous employment and am honing my skills in SQL Server and Power BI.
Power BI is a fantastic product and does sooooo much and I feel I am just hitting the tip of the iceberg on what it can do. Hi Keith, Sad to hear bout your role elimination. It is an honour that a fellow countryman has written this book. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours. I study the Power BI by myself for few months.
Your post is the greatest one that I found on the internet for learning Power BI. Many thanks to you. I heard something about PBI 4 months ago, and luckly knew such a book 1 week ago. I think it will be helpful in the future. Your link to download the pdf book does not work. Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method. Hi Tomas, The download link fixed.
Thanks for your commitment and time dedication to be precise and professional. Details , tips , graphics are great and help me knowing the concept of PowerBI through a different perspective.
I think this book is a valuable scientific approach to teaching this powerful tool. Good luck and I hope to see you. Hi Reza, I am learning a lot from your blog post and book. As Power BI is changing so fast when we can expect next release of this powerful book.
Hi, Followed the Radacad precon session at Dataminds connect in Belgium. I liked it very much. Will read this to gain more thorough knowledge of Power BI. Will going through you tuts help me learning how to publish a dashboard on a Web Page or only in my PC?
In this book you will learn about publishing Power BI reports on the website and all other features on the website such as a dashboard. Here is the new structure: Edition 4: 7th of Jan Reza Rad. Reza is also co-founder and co-organizer of Difinity conference in New Zealand. He is the leader of the New Zealand Business Intelligence users group.
And He is a Microsoft Certified Trainer. Thanks David for your kind words. You can download and print it for free! However, this book has pages, which make it expensive to print! This is the first edition of this book as a PDF , and I will do my best to publish next editions regularly.
The main reason to publish this book online, was that with the fast pace of updates for Power BI Desktop, it is impossible to publish a paperback book, because it will be out dated in few months.
So far, I have more than 60 sections wrote for this book. The book covers all aspects of Power BI; from data preparation, to modeling, and visualization. You can start reading this book with no prerequisite. However, there are some sections, that need an example previously built in another section. These sections have a prerequisite section mentioning this requirement. After a year and half of writing online, I decided to release this book as a PDF version as well, for two reasons; First to help community members who are more comfortable with PDF books, or printed version of materials.
Second; as a giveaway in my Power BI training courses. Feel free to print this book and keep it in your library, and enjoy. This book is FREE! This book will be updated with newer editions hopefully every month , so you can download the latest version of it anytime from my blog post here:. I will do my best to update any changes in next few editions. However, to keep you informed; There is a date at the beginning of each section under the header that mentioned the publish date of that section.
